Why Hello!

It has been a while, I realize. I think of you often, I promise.

I have embraced the 'pajama as daytime wear' trend and these are a pair of silk pants that I picked up at Encore. I wore them out to dinner at Bite Cafe here in Chicago. It was delicious.

My purse is an old Coach of my mother's. I love the color.

Guten Tag

With no lederhosen to be found in my closet, I improvised to create this particular outfit. After a night dancing away to Flogging Molly, I couldn't bring myself to wear heels:

Guten tag, or the German schoolboy, as my boyfriend puts it. My response?



Yes. Man Repelling one pair of flat desert boots at a time.







I have also started playing with a tripod and remote control. These pictures are the result.


I also like to pretend that the lamp is my studio lighting. I suppose I feel the need to show you all the different light, hence the 10 photos. I swear.


Today we saw German documentarist Werner Herzog's latest film, Into the Abyss. The world always seems a bit different walking out of one of his works and this was no exception.

Iced Over

I went down to the lake to admire the crazy ice formations following a few really cold days.



















Inspired by blogger Valentine's chunky headbands, I tried out this scarf as a way to keep my ears warm, fight the wind, and avoid having the camera hit my brim! Still thinking about ways to tie it. The Aran sweater is a very special purchase - I will go into more detail about it soon!





The black and white sweater is a vintage accessory courtesy of my maman's closet.








I am endlessly fascinated by how different the landscape can be despite seemingly similar weather conditions. I missed the opportunity to take pictures in sunlight and trying to use different analog lenses, the lighting was pretty off. And editing scares me/I need to take a digital photography class.

Sun Sets in the West

Whenever I am away from California, I miss the sunsets terribly.

This is a wee bit of a tardy post, from back in January. I hope that you'll forgive me.

Wearing one of my favorite pieces of maman's, this shimmery top.

 

And a $2 leather skirt.

I believe I've said it before but I'll say again that Haleigh plays the best music on her blog Making Magique (and her pictures are truly magique). Thanks to her, the group Washed Out has become my soundtrack to this grey wintertime. I've been listening to "Soft" on loop for the last month. It makes me want to dance around semi-interpretively but with much arm-waving. Does that make any sense? 

Anyway, I hope winter is treating you nicely wherever you are.
